JUST PLAY RECORDS introduce Mehi, a new and talented emerging young artist.
Artistically, Mehi is ahead of his time. A Punjabi singer who incorporates traditional Punjabi vocals with contemporary western beats with a twist.
Mehi's latest album, 'The Rebirth' introduces original production with various different musical styles. The lyrics combines a touch of traditional Punjabi folk feel with urban street beats, alongside Fusing Naked Beats who are renowned for fusing their Eastern heritage with that of that of the West. ‘The Rebirth’ has a unique electronic Punjabi landscape which blends many diverse elements into one cohesive and unifying experience.
Mehi’s aim is to cross boundaries and introduce a whole new meaning to Punjabi music, ‘The Rebirth’ features some very special guest artists including General Levy, Sandhya Sanjana, Kat Neocleous, Kelz and tabla work by Alok Verma, alongside great productions from Fusing Naked Beats and Mehi.

Mikko New Single 'Pataka'

Ladoo Records presents Rapping Sensation “MIKKO”. Punjabi rapper rapping about Love than Hate!! Single “Pataka” will be out on 10th of September 07, production from the some of the best producers from industry in the form of Juggy Kang, Jus Ritz, and himself.

Born in Punjab and raised in Jamaica, Queens where MIKKO was heavily influenced by Rap, R&B, Reggae.

It was a rare thing to see Indian in the neighbour hood where he grew up - the neighbour hood was mainly "coloured", over the course of many years, moved to Rich Hill Aka Richmond Hill, NYC.

NYC is also the east coast rap capital of the world. Many artists are from Jamaica, same neighbourhood where Mikko grew up. Many artists such as Tony Yayo, Lloyd Bank, 50 Cent, etc are all from there. This is where MIKKO began to pick up on the beats. The sound of rap/R&B/reggae was pretty much the only thing you heard.

This is his attempt merge and fuse pure “folk style hardcore PUNJABI RAP” into the heart of Punjabi soul. He uses terms that can be referenced as "Punjabi Ebonics". He gives no regards to the words he use (but they are chosen carefully not to hurt any race, colour, ethnicity of the listener)... however, His words will not hold back.
